This is Copper Wings. Father is a Barnevelder/Black Orpington mix, mother is a Wheaten Ameraucana. Is Copper Wings a boy or a girl? H/she is just about 4 months old and clucks like a hen and hasn't shown the least effort at a crow, but Copper Wings looks very rooish. I'd like your opinions. Thank you!

Quote: I just figured out you meant SHRUB, not the SCRUB you said. lol! Anyways, Texas sage might be a good choice, or possibly ruellia brittonia. For a tree, china berry grows extremely rapidly, and of course there is also the moringa. For vines, grapes, passion fruit and arabian jasmine grow pretty rapidly,

thinking about Texas sage? I am going to check out ruellia brittonia & china berry. Sounds good.. I only have 1 out of 3 seeds growing from the
the seeds my D.H. brought home.. Dont want to use a trellis.. Although I do love the 3 grape vine we do have.
Thank you..
All too often the sage is sheared into box or sphere shapes by landscapers. It is FAR more attractive if left untrimmed, or pruned only to remove branches that are inconvenient, or to reduce size.

The brittonia form of ruellia can be a bit invasive, so be sure you want it where you plant it. For landscaping I prefer the katy form, as it is slower growing, and not nearly as tall. Both come in eihter purple, pink or white. I have no experience with the white; he purple is stronger than the pink, and if you have both, it will overtake and squeeze out the pink,

I lost last night 2 of my girls, one was Voney my favorite, the one that was always by my side. I went to my moms planing to be home by 4:30-5:00PM. didn't get home until 8:00. Went out right a way to check on my girls, but found only 8 in the coop. One under the coop. I looked all over but couldn't find them. I looked this morning, and a couple more times. Gave up for now, then started to but away some crates, there Voney was. He beak looked broken and her neck was. A little ways away hidden from view saw blond feathers, there was Blondie. She had been sick, then started to gain weight again. I had been planing earlier to use her at the prep part, then when she started to put on weight and more active she was off the hook, sort of to say. It is going to be lonely with out Voney. :hit

My 12 little ones have arrived. Took right to the feed and water. My 2 year old is taking his nap and will be so excited when he wakes up, he's been saying "baby chits" all week.
