Arizona Chickens

Mahonri - did you end up with some Policana? What do yours look like? Ours have the tiniest of tophats. You almost can't see them. We are anxious to see what they will end up looking like. One was very yellow with a black dot on its head and the other was more white and looks like a WA with a black dot on each side of its backside. Both their wing feathers are growing in pure white.

Goodmorning everyone, I'm trying to catch up here. Everyone has been so busy.

gckiddhouse I think I saw you waving at me

from that peek.
If your going to be close and want to see the Bio on a Sunday I can always get my freinds and family in for a tour. LOL

Shaun congrats on the chickens. I'm glad your wife is getting with the program.

I'm at work here now and the wind is blowing. I sure hope we don't loose power I don't feel like running a generator today.

I put my 5 week old chicks outside in the coop in a dog run and they don't like it at night. They won't go in the crate. They cry and it breaks my heart. Last night I stayed with them and kept putting them in the crate that has grass hay. They started flying over the run into my arms and snuggling down. They go into the box that I used to transport them for the last week. They are so funny. They love that box.

ADC & Shaun Here is my little guy as a "pullet" He is 8 weeks old in this pic. One of my EEs has a black head like this and I suspect he is a roo.

Laree - Here he is today. Just a few minutes ago. He just started crowing last week.

He's so beautiful! I don't think he'll work for an Aloha roo though. Too much black (all that blue is really just black, waiting to ruin all my hard work).

I will try to post some pics of my roos at lunch. I made an effort to take pics of the teenagers last night.

We also have this lovely lady perched in our tree by the garden. Isn't she brave? The pot is about 5 feet off the ground and we walk by it all the time. She stands her ground and sits very still. Another broody!!

Well, I didn't figure he would. Don't your aloha birds also have clean faces?

If there aren't any takers, I think he will make a nice soup. I hate the idea of ousting such a pretty bird, but don't relish the idea of putting him on CL either. Who knows what will become of him. I suppose I could try it.

Biochick - thanks for the offer! We would love to see the biospere! Do they do tours regularly? Or just family. We have a 4-H group that would love love love to come down! Let me know if this is a possibility.

I am a few pages behind so I don't know if anyone else answered you yet ir nit but I saw a few Marans over at the stock shop this week. Ther were 2 weeks old at least. Just Fyi. I wanted a few but they are too small for my chickens. They would get beaten up.
