She chose a great nest! It's made of palm tree branches and other desert plant debris leaning against our brick wall. It built up due to our laziness and unwillingness to haul them. It really is a perfect nest, I had no idea it was being used until a late night I decided to try to haul it. I saw some babes in there so I quickly left it alone and head inside. The palms cover everything but a tiny sliver she slips threw making it difficult to take pictures of the inside. I have tried, my camera zoom is pretty nice. NO AVAIL! Mom is way too fast to catch on camera either, she disappears once she sees us in the yard. But I made a promise to myself to take pictures once the babes come out of the nest.

I love owls! I bet it was great seeing them grow up, owls are very funny birds. You should go back up there! It sounds like fun.

I have Black and White (not white crested black polish)(2/12 hatch and 3/19 hatch), 1 mostly black polish
(2/12), buff laced (3/14), golden laced (3/14), and silver laced polish (3/14). I have about 8 or 9 silver laced and I believe two are roo's, if I remember correctly I bought 10 hens and 2 roo's (and lost a few early on). The black and whites are not sexed but were hatched in early to mid feb and are starting to become noticable which are roo's. I have some white crested blue polish roos also. I also have a mystery chick (probably a roo) that I still havent quite figured out what it is (my daughter calls it a volcher) and another chick that I hatched from some eggs given to me by a friend and judging by his wings, I'd say he was a roo too. I am also planning on thinning out some Phoenix's also. When we initially ordered them, we ordered alot because we heard that there could be many losses and while we did have quite a few losses, we didnt loose as many as we thought we would. We lost mostly bantams. Im also open to trading for Silkies. I would love a hen or two that isnt white.

Also, what and where is the Stock Shop?

Thanks!

I will be in Phoenix on Tuesday and hopefully they will still have some when I get down there. I'll call them before I head down there.

YAY! I think the great egg-drought of 2010 is over! My SuperBroody should have chicks tomorrow, and there were 4 (maybe 5!) banty eggs today. So either the broody banties are laying again, or *gasp*--even better-- the freeloading Aloha pullets are finally puttin' out! I did have that nasty shell-less egg yesterday, and one earlier this week.

I can finally eat my own eggs! They have all been going to my egg customers for weeks and weeks now.

Wow, you aren't kidding. I just looked up a pic of a show quality BWA rooster and he really is a dead ringer! I doubt he would breed true, but he sure is pretty. Do you remember if he likely came from an EE egg or a W/BWA egg. Do you think he is really an EE? Maybe he is one of your purebreds? Now I feel even worse about not keeping him.
I woudn't be surprised if those hackle feathers are still baby feathers and end up being replaced. Do you want me to hang on to him a while and post pics in a few weeks?

The Stock Shop rocks!! I got all my chicks and supplies from them, they are always friendly and helpful, oh and they have the Terramigo bedding which I am now spoiled on.

I guess everyone has their favorite feed stores

There are two of my young EEs in the lower left of the top pic. Any opinions on whether they are pullets or roos?

So yea as was said earlier the stock shopp is at 67th ave and Thunderbird In Glendale.
If you need me to pick some up for you I could probably do that. Just let me know. (not completely sure where to put them but i could figure something out)

as for Polish I would love to get some. I got a few more frizzled silkies and could trade some of those so my numbers don't get much bigger if you like. We could talk and see what you are looking for. I may have something you want?

Shaun- if you are going to own a Sizzle, you have to say "Sizzle". You also have to get a ridiculously stupid picture of one to show off.
