That has been the law sense solar started. But, what the power company's wants to do, to my present udders tanning, is pay less for the power and charge them more then other company's when they us their power.

People need to write e-mails to their legislators and organize to protest. Power to the People from organizing. I missed my calling, should have been a Union Organizer !

I often carry chickens upside down for short periods. Ordinarily it does not harm them but it does sound as if your birds aspirated the contents of it's crop or maybe something is stuck somewhere either in the nostrils,  esophagus, or even windpipe.  The something needs to be dislodged.

I checked & found her roosting like nothing happened, but I will be checking her out tomorrow! I feel so guilty...hope she is more docile tho

Well folks, My DH and I have a new home and starting in Jan. we will be off traveling the USA for 6-12 months or so. We will then find where we want to stay but the thing that makes me happy is we have a place until we find that perfect spot for us! We will have our two whippet dogs with us but no chickens. She is a 1986 Jayco but has been very well cared for.

My darn frackin' chickens are a bunch of Houdini's. Every time I go out there, it's a different one or two that snuck out for a snack. I added another bungee cord to keep the gate closed tighter! A few may need to go to the stew pot if this keeps up...

Only one of the eggs that was under my broody has hatched out so far, the good news is that the chick is healthy and thriving. I really, really hope that its a girl, since its only the one chick. Its a Welsummer/EE cross. If nothing hatches out by tomorrow night I'm going to pull the remaining eggs.

My broody didn't manage to hatch any; I had one Welsummer hatch from shipped eggs so slipped her the chick and pulled the eggs. One egg the chick had pipped internally   then died. The other one seemed to have died about day 19 or so. The third seemed to be either infertile or an early quitter and had begun to stink; I had pulled it a few days earlier when I was checking them and noticed the smell.

Hopefully the next hatches will be better. Have a mixed lot of olivers and a couple Black Copper Marans in the bator now. Broody is being a great mamma and I don't think she did anything wrong with the eggs, she sat tight as a tick on that nest the whole time.

Glad you reminded me to candle.. I will be checking in about a week for the little stinkers..
It seems some hen went in & poo"d" all over the eggs.. They were not clean as of yesterday when
Felisha decided to come out and make her presence known... I could hear her from inside the house..
I quickly added more bedding.. Hope I did not disturb them to much...

Well, where to start? I'm still alive and kicking.   Tired of doing a/c work in Phx in the summer, it takes all my time and energy. Still have chickens and ducks, and have added guineas, geese and turkeys. Still battling coyotes and feral dogs, as well as hawks and owls, Ran into LadyKortaDoria at the grocery store and found out in conversation about turkeys that she was on BYC, which in turn prompted me to get off my tush and log in and see what's been going on. Nice to see Gallo and some of the others I remember. Great deal on those cisterns Gallo!. Moringas... mine died back last year with the freeze before the seed pods ripened, but did come back so I'm hoping I get some this year.  I'm going to try and catch up on some of the recent past posts and hope to check in more often.

Rush's Bilious Pills, I think it was something like 600 of them, as a laxative, referred to as Thunderclapers the pills were the size of horse pills. His treatment was mercury-chloride solution, administered until the patient drooled, teeth and hair fell out, or the died. He was considered a hero and the best example of moderne Medicean.

It was thought fight poison with poison......... Ya! That worked.

You will never look at the Periodic Table the same, and for the first time for many it will make sense. The sun won't run out of energy, even if the whole world was solar. If it did it would be the end of the world anyway and, we aren't making that faster by using solar - we aren't tapping into the sun, simply using the energy the sun has already released. It's there if we choose to use it or not.

It's Halloween and I'm missing my gold body suit.  I wish I'd been able to see out of it.  I am getting another one from Amazon, but a lot of the colors are sold out so I'll have to wait for the restock.  As boring as it is, I think it'll have to be black.  The gold highlighted some features I'd prefer not to have highlighted.  Plus, in black I can really be sneaky and freaky.   eta:  I found a tiedye look rainbow zentai suit.  Hard to resist.  also metallic purple.  and metallic silver.  and metallic black.  how ever will I choose??????

I wanted to put out our soaker hose and spray the little brats all dressed up..
You know, kind of freak them out..D.H. Said no.
Then I suggested; ok how about get on someone's roof and use a high powered
sprayer? Or wait no, hide in a bush in the suit you are talking about and get them..
Girl, sounds like a good time to me... I love harmless fun..
