HOA's are tricky. I think it varies from HOA to HOA what you can pull off. Picky (or not) neighbors seem to be the determining factor. Good luck.

One thing on the noisy chickens....the Black Australorps seem to be quieter...well, mine are anyway, the never sound as loud as a rooster...

And, I see we welcomed you already...sorry for getting confused.

I have 6 hens but we are on a lot that's almost 1/2 acre. They free-range a lot of the day and when they don't they are next to the nice neighbors with double insulated windows.

They were very proud of their eggs this morning and made a lot of noise!
