That's what I was wondering, too, blue enough for what? It is very difficult to get true to color egg photos. I do not see any that look super blue like good Ameraucana eggs. They look greenish or pale blue, two almost white, to me.Blue enough for what? Hard to tell from a photo. To me they look greenish. Very pretty!
I cant find anyone that has them right now and he seems down this am but he is still live. I have put out a request and will call around.Better off putting it with other quail since there are diseases that chickens carry that can make quail sick and possibly die. Not worth the risk when you can just get other quail for it to live with.
Beautiful color range. I see light blue, green & olive.. All pretty.. Photos dont do justice![]()
I was trying to see if my Ameraucana's had any what they called a true blue egg. I didn't think so because I think I've seen bluer than that.I put the two white eggs in for comparison. Thanks ladies for giving me your feedback. These were from a hatchery at Pet club near me from last Mother's Day 2013. so I'm trying to learn what I can! That's what I was wondering, too, blue enough for what? If your Ameraucanas were from a hatchery, they are most likely Easter Eggers(a mix of Ameraucana and a more prolific egg layer). Nothing wrong with them (I have a couple), just not true Ameraucanas.
but I do not have air and am afraid its too hot to make him travel, what do you think? I talked to my feed stores (3 of them) apparently not so uncommon for people to find quail. they said I have done everything right and I will grind his food down so i make sure he is eating and add bugs and mealworms. I might find some quail in phx to bring home tomorrow night. better to bring them at night in the cool than during the heat of the day.I just emailed my friend that rescues wild birds & rehabilitates them. She mentioned she knew someone that takes in rehabilitates & rerelease's them as a flock.. If she gets back to us before you leave & can make it work, we will take it to her.. We can do the massive exchange on Friday.
Chicken feed, seed box, & now quail.. Wow you guys are going to busy getting here..
Frozen water bottle in the box with her will keep the area cool for it.but I do not have air and am afraid its too hot to make him travel, what do you think?
