By the way, Meaty our shoulder-roosting NH pullet has now decided that the TV or BBQ outside are not good enough to roost on. Now she's getting on our porch light. weirdo.

BOSS is Black Oil Sunflower Seed. On another thread, someone mentioned that they sprout it before giving it to their chickens, so it might be ok. As dry as it is right now, I bet that if you spread it out on a sheet or something, and maybe covered it so the wild birds couldn't get to it, it would dry out and be just fine.
