Arizona Chickens

well here she is in all of her rebuilt glory. I am moving it into place and going to start testing on temperature as soon as my new thermometer comes! Gonna have to start figuring out egg supply to do a test hatch once I have completed temp setting testing!

What a beautiful job! And it's even more special since it's a family heirloom.

Is that a separate hatcher under the turner?

Yeah, it has a basket under the turner and it has brackets to put a tub of water in it too. Have to figure out, probably a glass baking dish for the water..

Do you guy feed your chick with green grass?

My house doesn't has any green grass, I tell my wife get some vegetable from store give it to them.
I am thinking about to grow some wheat grass for them.
Please give me some Idea.

Like @DesertChic
said sprouting seeds is a good way to get the greens they crave.  This time of year weeds are abundant.  I scour my alley, the neighbors' yards, anyplace that might have unsprayed weeds.  I pull them up and give the chickens the entire plant, they even pick at the roots.  Most weeds are very nutritious and are eaten quickly.

X2!! we know which neighbors yard's that do not spray for weed's. free chicken food!. The link that you posted up, were you too late ordering from them this last time?

Well, I took off from work tonight at lunch time, with chicken cages already loaded in the truck. Went to the old house and picked 10 chickens off the roost (all I can carry in my 2 cages). By my reckoning, with what I moved this morning and yesterday morning and tonight, I should have all the Jersey Giants moved to the new house. Unfortunately on arrival, I found I had a Black Copper Marans in one of the cages, so I need to go back tomorrow and find the last Giant. (Hey, it was dark out there!)

The things we do for our chicken's! :yiipchick

He's so beautiful! I wish I didn't already have 3 cockerels crowding out my 7 pullets or I'd buy him from you.

Got some Duck Weed from my friend that I'm going to attempt to grow
I also set 11 eggs to test out my friends new inqubator, if Jeffy is doing his job well then I'll have some cute NN mix babies around Feb. 12th

My NN chicks just hatched this past weekend. I'm amazed at how much they've changed already! Good luck with your hatch!
(BTW, that Duck Week looks rather...um...yucky.
