What a beautiful job! And it's even more special since it's a family heirloom.

Is that a separate hatcher under the turner?

said sprouting seeds is a good way to get the greens they crave. This time of year weeds are abundant. I scour my alley, the neighbors' yards, anyplace that might have unsprayed weeds. I pull them up and give the chickens the entire plant, they even pick at the roots. Most weeds are very nutritious and are eaten quickly.
Well, I took off from work tonight at lunch time, with chicken cages already loaded in the truck. Went to the old house and picked 10 chickens off the roost (all I can carry in my 2 cages). By my reckoning, with what I moved this morning and yesterday morning and tonight, I should have all the Jersey Giants moved to the new house. Unfortunately on arrival, I found I had a Black Copper Marans in one of the cages, so I need to go back tomorrow and find the last Giant. (Hey, it was dark out there!)
