Arizona Chickens

They're settling in fine! All are sleeping for now. I forgot how they just plop down and sleep when they're tiny. But I expect it'll look like they had a rave in there by morning!

I know both breeders have great reputations and your flock is quite beautiful, loved the roo! Sad to know the Rattlesnake Ridge line isn't directly available, but understandable per the circumstances. I would really like to see the blues and splashes become popular colors.

The kids are super excited and have named their chicks already. Here they are this evening: Elsa who was going to be Bluebell, Donut, Indigo and Olive

I'm glad that they settled in. Thanks for the picture of them. Have you taken the other two over to your friends yet?

Oh my gosh! You got confused again! As far as I know Kurt that does the Rattlesnake Ridge ones is still doing his, and would sell you hatching eggs. It is Chet that started the original Hupp line, and a guy named Chase bought out Chet's last ones when he got out of them. I haven't heard from Chase in over a year now, so I don't know if he is still doing them or not anymore.

PS> My Blue Rooster is a 1/2 Hupp line (the mother), and 1/2 Rattlesnake Ridge line (the father).

I think i see a little blue cockerel in those chicks...!!! good luck with all of them they have the best blood lines...!!! : )

I have an EE roo already, but was talking to hubs about roo possibilities. He said it would be interesting to see what babies we might get. So, who knows?

@BlueBaby I thought I read that the Rattlesnake Ridge breeder wasn't breeding any more because of health issues? If I'm wrong I'm happy! I really like these birds and might get some eggs then if I decide to keep just the Aussies.

Yes I did leave the 2 older chicks with my friend. She loves them! She called me last night to tell me how happy her mom is. They may be interested in mire chicks or possibly hatching eggs from you in the future.

@meetthebubus they are Australorps. Blues and a black.

Now that I've read about them, I'm seriously considering keeping only these birds as my flock diminishes and breeding in the future. We shall see, the husband has said it would be interesting to see what kind of babies we get if one if these is a roo. Made me smile!
