Well, since it's been so windy today, I decided that I wanted the chickens to eat the feed good before they roost for the night. I took some of the juices out of the pork and veggie soup and put it in a bowl, then went out and added the feed to it and mixed it up so the feed was wet enough not to blow away in the wind. They went crazy for it! I like it when there is none that is wasted!

My raptors go crazy when I make their food into a mash with some warm water. Since you used your seasoned juice from your soup (I don't make soup), would it hurt to use some low-sodium broth with their feed? I also mix in some mixed veggies. They go crazy over mash and especially the string beans, and the carrots are the last to get eaten.

COLD COLD RAIN happening, the bubus are safe in the new mansion, and YES why do chickens think we control the weather? Poor babies I thought it was just my sensitive feather babies that blame me for everything that's wrong in their world lol

The low-sodium broth shouldn't hurt them, I wouldn't think. Mine ate the carrots up that were in my soup juices. They seem to eat the cooked carrots up better than the raw ones.

They probably think that we control the weather because we control everything else for them, food and water, safety, etc.

We are also getting a big rain! I'm relieved I put that tarp up when it was light out lol

Yep, big rain, big wind here too -between Eloy & Casa Grande in Pinal County too. The girls were not happy when I went out to feed. I too made soup today - creamy chicken vegetable with noodles. It's called leftovers from the fridge! Stay safe friends.

I have a few go-to recipes, but anytime you guys mention something it always sounds so tasty! I am confident in my egg drop soup and hamburger soup, and I am working on my hot and sour soup. I thought I had it down, but we got Chinese take out last week and I realized mine needs some work lol.

Tweak it to what works best for you. I'm a Food Network junkie and have dozens of cookbooks. What I realized was that different parts of countries have different foods, depending on region i.e., Northern Italy is different from Southern Italy.
