Arizona Chickens

By the end of summer and the horrid heat my girls look ragged. Not just color but their feathers are split and broken - almost like they need to begin using moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Then they clear up and look better with cooler weather and then along comes molt! Can't be fun for them either.

Thanks, haven't had but that one summer, so I wasn't sure if it was just mine and something I could do.. their first summer they were babies and didn't have such a rough time bc they weren't laying yet

I've been thinking a lot about the upcoming integration and it's looking good. Today I put some fresh dirt in with the ee's and they freaked and ran to the fence that separates the 2 flocks. And roo came running to them concerned and crying for them too so that's is a great sign he considers them family now! :fl

Mine did the same thing as yours, and looked terrible.

One of my new chicks. Funny thing is that it is the only one that has the black spots like that.

That sounds good....as long as you're not eating the scratch too, and flapping and scratching around the yard.

My Lord, what would the neighbors think? BYC, keep an eye on her.

Ah man! But but but that's the best part!
:hit

@Jadesun6 - way more talented than I am to do that PLUS you can get down on the floor - hahahaha - that doesn't work with this body! I do hope it works. Cute little chickies!

Thank you. Well I never said how well I could get up! I have a bad back and sometimes it takes a bit! If you don't hear from me i might still be on the floor!
