Arizona Chickens

WOW! Look at those legs!

Wow, I took those pictures yesterday evening before the sun set, and this afternoon both he and one of those 2 other white ones are dead (all cockerels). No puncture wounds or bleeding, so my guess it because it was too hot for them. They were not being kept in the pen with the others, so have no access to the misters. Now they are buzzard food.

Also, is this the new pen you were talking about putting up? It's looks like it's on the outside of the original pen???

No, I put those 3 boy's out into the yard because I didn't want to keep them. They have been living out there for about a month. I was just putting food and water out there for them, and in another month I would have butchered them. I have 3 more of the White cockerels that are inside of the pen, along with 3 White pullets. That's still too many boys to keep for only 3 girls.

Oh no! That's too bad! Well I still have mine that's like that plus the blue one and they're still being raised by the broody mom. Hopefully they'll do ok. Is there a time of day that the yard doesn't have any shade maybe? Because thats all they really need. And always have water available, obviously....

I love pics of chickens looking at the camera! I hope someone from az gets a pic in more peeps should enter too :jumpy
I lost the majority of my "calendar quality" pics when my computer crashed a few weeks ago... :hit So I've been slowly re-downloading them from places that I've posted them online as I find them... I can see what I have but......

I had a large dog food bowl that can't be tipped over out there for their water close to my water spiket and smaller water hose. I go out every couple of hours after I wake up and check on thing's out there. That's why when I found them, the rigor hadn't set in much yet. They also knew that it was shady for them under that big storage truck out there near them.

Hey, I have some of them in my email box in my file folder for you! I could email them back to you?
that probably wouldn't hurt.. hehe...
This girl has been somewhat photogenic lately... but I don't know that they're good enough for a calendar....

They were Aloha's, but she was getting out of them because her boyfriend wanted her to travel with him.

I don't know how to search for old posts but I believe those were called Aloha Chickens.
I'm sooooo excited. thank you for helping me find Summer and her Aloha Chickens, she still has them, and I now have eggs to hatch... I've set the incubator, and am just trying to make sure I have the settings right... it's a small Brinsea...
starting the count for 21 days....
99.6 degrees for 21 days.
turn for 19 days, lock down with high humidity the last two days.
60 or 120 minutes automatic cool down per day?
Did I miss anything?
