Arizona Chickens

I walked next door to check on the mail and my neighbor's animals today. They all looked good, but the yard is a total mess. Tree limbs and branches all over the place, and a big limb fell on top of the roof. It blew the decorations they had hanging up under the back porch down. The feed and water containers were all still there where they should be at. It was 109-F. when I went over there I sweated so bad that I felt like I had taken a shower by the time I got back home. He will be back home from working out of town tonight though, and he has to go pick up his wife at the airport on Saturday.

 ok we did surgery on China's bumblefoot this evening since there was no wind, etc.
I've been putting it off and wrapping every other day but it wouldn't get better without surgery so hubby stepped up and cut while I held her

She was so good, she liked being held and was used to at least the wrapping part by now

I think when she always watched me holding the others she wanted to be held too so she liked that part and even was relaxed as you could be

Lots of infection came out glad we plunged in and got it done:sick

I'm so glad you were able to get that done. It's not fun but you know they must feel so much better once it's finished and they heal. Did she bleed a lot? My red star did a little, but not too bad. I have to work on my Wyandotte tomorrow. Wish me luck :fl I'm getting really good at wrapping them by myself but I will probably need some help getting her infection out. I HATE bumblefoot, but at least we are getting better at dealing with it!

I'm with ya, she did bleed a bit too, hubbys not sure if he got everything bc chinas is bad bc she keeps hitting it against the fence, stubborn one, but now I'll wrap her everyday until I see healing or if we have to dig a bit more out

That must be hard to wrap by yourself, my Orpingtons love to be difficult so I have someone help me I've been thinking of inventing a chicken highchair so I can work on the chickens myself if need be
