@meetthebubus I rinse and fill with fresh water every day. I wash once a week with white vinegar and a dish rag or paper towel. I also dump any mud or dirty water out of the reservoirs when I'm out there for whatever reason.

She is definitely the explorer of the bunch. She is the one who somehow got onto the roof of the coop that one day a while back. I still have no clue how she did that. She's mischievous and curious! And luckily still alive!! Not many chickens live after visiting the mouth of a mastiff.Oh that's so scary! So glad all is ok I bet Blue regrets her exploration today
@FeatherPugsI wonder what the heck happened to your black naked neck gal? I'm guessing some sort of predator action, you might be onto something with the eagles because I would assume they wouldn't leave any evidence. Sorry to hear she is missing.
@meetthebubus I dump the sand and muck out daily, refill as needed, and use the scrubby brush with diluted dish soap about once every two weeks or so. They do get pretty yucky in the summer.
We are getting lots of rain, with big black clouds on the horizon. Be on the lookout, seems to be heading north!
Making quesadillas tonight, fresh homemade salsa....
I really should make something with eggs... I have over 200 and only have orders for 100 of them, plus I get more than a dozen a day, yesterday was 18 eggs![]()
@SonoranChick I'm guessing predator too. Usually everyone would act differently or their warning would be so loud I might hear it. OR I might not have been home as we had doc appointments all am to early afternoon.
Actually had enough warning so buttoned the chickies up against the wind and rain. Had horrid wind and some thunder and lightning but only 15 drops of rain so far! Tomorrow we put out the meds for worming.
