Ok what's everyone's thoughts on the weather lately?

I don't like the 104's but 72 in the morning and the fact the heat goes down really fast at sundown is more tolerable

I feel like I've seen the worse of monson.... a bit disappointing humidity has gone away ..


At least I don't have chickens panting the entire day AND evenings!

I did a speech about chickens and got a lot of ooohs and awwwwws at the chicken pics and videos

And some were really surprised at chickens behaviors and intelligence with someone mentioning to me they had to rethink what they always thought about chickens lol

I have a pro chicken convert! but really it's great to educate about chickens I know I used to be blind to them...

The Farmers Almanac is predicting a teeth chattering cold winter!

I thought so! I'm looking at Roo and Goldie last night and they are starting a molt, looks like a lighter molt too and I thought if they are molting this early, must be a colder winter!

My oldest hen (Splash Australorp) is molting, too! I also have another hen (NN) that's broody. I took the egg out of the nesting box, then went in there later to catch her sitting on someone else's egg that had been layed over on the ground. I took that one away from her, too!

@DesertChic But it never stays October/November forever!!
@meetthebubus and @BlueBaby Sorry but the extended forecast shows a few 110 degree days in Sept. Lets hope they are WRONG!
@City farm We love that recipe!! Unfortunately my DH has new normal of GERD and a throat disease that causes bleeding. Bottom line if its spicy he doesn't eat it as that is a trigger for him. Yes - he is so so sad about losing some of his favorites.
