Arizona Chickens

Of those 2 that I hatched about a week behind you, the one that hatched from the tan egg I'm pretty sure it's a boy. It's probably going to look like Charley. The other one that hatched from the blue egg is white with black spotting in it and it seem's to be a pullet. It should be interesting to see how the feathering in the pullet grows out, being as it's mixed with the CCLB and should end up being another green egg layer.

Do they have bibs or bow ties?

My barnevelder has gone broody yet again! It has been every other month since April. Now I can tell the day before she goes full broody...she makes a specific and constant "cluck cluck cluck" all over the run and puffs up like a blow fish. Next thing I know, she's sitting in the box for a month :barnie I also believe my Wyandotte may have started molting. Her feathers have been all over the place lately and she has lots of new little quills (I think that's what they're called) growing in. I wonder if my other girls will start soon too.

That broody cluck is unmistakable isn't it?

I can hear Ruby coaxing the chick out into the big yard right now. She sounds so cute.

Are you going to give her ice-packs or eggs to sit on?

She will be getting the ice packs. Last time I checked she was sitting in the water bowl inside the nest box. Maybe she will try to break her own broody fever this time  I don't want to get rid of any of my hens, but if I could find someone who wanted a broody I would consider it. I hate to not let her utilize her instincts, but I don't have a rooster nor do I wants chicks. She would make a great mama hen.

Don't you live sort of close to @DesertChic ? Maybe she could use your broody to hatch out some of her NN's?

Is your broody a Blue, Double-laced Blue, or Double-laced? The eggs from that breed that I seen online look to be darker brown than the one's that I have here from my flock.
