Arizona Chickens

I have yet to meet an animal that poops as much as chickens do! All day, all night...everytime I clean all the poop I turn around and there are 10 more :th

Yes, the run is NEVER clean as I go back through a freshly raked run I definitely see new donations to poo mountain :lau

My broody girl did that the other day...it was bigger than an egg.

@DesertChic I'm glad that you found that out for your hubby. It's a shame how money hungry that some of them can be. They care about the money and not you.

About those feed bucket's... would it be possible that you could use one of those wagons for them?

He actually bought me one of those wagons and when I have to mix double buckets I use it, but most of the time it's less time consuming to just carry a single bucket out there. Honestly, I was just being facetious. I'm actually used to carrying 50 lbs around on a regular basis. Heck, I leg press and squat more than twice the weight my husband does.

Oh yes, broody poop is just the worst! AND I have some momma chickens who have no babies and are on the roost, not on a nest and they still hold it until they get up in the morning. Guess they just found it convenient!
@cavemanrich - those sloggers are just the greatest! I'd fall off of them but they are the greatest!
I still have these size 8s - free to me, free to you.
AND I still have two roosters to give away. Makes us sad but its the right thing to do. I'll take new pics.

I had another chick from a tan egg hatch out a couple of hours ago. I think it's going to have a bowtie instead of a bib, and it look's like a blue color.

Edit: I'm thinking that this last chick was from an egg that my Splash Australorp hen laid, but according to the genetics the bowtie is not supposed to happen, so maybe it wasn't her's after all.

I'm sure getting different colored chicks out of this hatch. I've decided to name one of them Coffee, and another one Cocoa. Not all of my eggs are hatched yet. Going to give the rest of them another day.

I love fun names like that, I have lots named after food or something, I have a mocha.... lol love those names you chose

I gave them those names because of the coloring of their fluff after they dried out.

Edit: I finally was able to move Cocoa down into the brooder.

I'll be keeping Coffee and Cocoa for myself to grow out, but I would sell the rest of them. The one's that I would sell are 1 White NN with a bib, 1 White Mix with fully feathered neck (blue legband), 1 grayish/brown mix with fully feathered neck (blue legband).

* Blue legband is the CCLB mixes hatched from the blue eggs.

Yes...food related names often prevail at my house too. One flock was a celebration of breakfast: Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms, & Pop Tart. Then there's Skittles, Hershey, Dulce, Saffron, Muffin, Gingersnap, Gingy, Cherry, and Kit Kat.

On the movie theme...I have Clarice and Starling, ("Silence of the Lambs") and of course, Rocky. Also Wesley and Buttercup ("The Princess Bride")...and just for fun...Pebbles & Bam Bam.

Yeah...I get into the whole name thing.
