Over 90 people have gotten sick, but thankfully there haven't been any deaths. It's a multi-drug resistant strain and has been found in raw chicken, eggs, ground chicken meat, pet food and live chickens. It is said to be widespread across the chicken industry, but there is not a common supplier so the source is unknown. It spans from January to September of this year. I'm still trying to see if AZ is involved. I would assume following proper safety and sanitation precautions would keep us safe with our own backyard flocks?
Edit- zero reported cases in AZ. Looks to be mostly the east coast.
