Arizona Chickens

Welp, I made the mistake of mentioning you don't have to cull a bird bc they have a runny nose only and I obviously stepped on some toes so i just left it sayin i didnt mean to offend lol

I just think i read a lot of people tellin others you better cull bc blah blah blah.... Well I'm not 100 per ent against culling, and I know others have different opinions but I feel bad bc some run out and give antibiotics to their birds just bc someone said to...

Anyhow I was freaking out last week and now my bubus are fine so thanks az thread for keeping my head level lol

It's better to keep a level head because you getting upset over other people isn't going to change the way that they want to think or do thing's. It only hurt's you and your health, because it stresses you out and causes your blood pressure to rise. Learn to be more like a duck... straighten up and let the rain run down off of the oiled feathered back! Life is too short to let other people bother you!

I don't cull immediately for a runny nose. I isolate and give oregano oil in the water. No antibiotics ever. Typically I can tell within 3 days if it's just a minor condition they'll recover from or something more serious. If it's serious, I'll cull. Otherwise...time, nutrition, and proper care will heal.

Yeah, that sounds sensible to me. What I'd think is good to do especially here in this climate what typically is said around the BYC site, what I read is most automatically go for the cull scare or go get tylan 50!
I mean sure humans and birds get different sickness but my thinking is if you can get valley fever from this area, maybe out chickens suffer from some allergy... idk:)

On another note
It doesn't make me upset I've learned to leave a thread if you anger some sensitive soul best just to leave that's why I stay away from things like Twitter too much drama for me lol what @BlueBaby said was true though

Did you all see the duck story in NYC? A duck native to Japan is there absolutely beautiful

Hi everyone! We are home! I am super busy learning how to be a new mom, but just wanted to let you all know that we are doing well and couldn't be more filled with love.

My husband is amazing and has totally taken over caring for the chickens for now.

I'll be checking in more once we get settled in. Hope all is well with you guys and your chickens! :love

She is just beautiful! So glad all went well. Was thinking about you all week. Check in when you can. Best advice I have is sleep when she does for the first couple weeks. You will recover so much faster and feel like yourself again sooner.
