I'm sorry to hear about your chick. It's amazing how quickly we get attached to them.

Enjoy your goat! What kind are you getting? We have 7 and they are so much fun!

Mahonri,

My hatch is complete. I ended up with 18 total. 10 BCMs and 8 Ameraucanas. I am happy with the 50% hatch rate. I think I would have been more successful if my incubator had kept a steady temp. Now that it's all cleaned out I have it running again and I'm trying to figure out how to tweak it. My daughters are having fun naming the fuzzies!

Thank you again!

BTW, I loved hatching in the carton!

Tonopah Pati - I know that I am a newer person here, but wanted to send you my best wishes for your health. My mother has been fighting cancer for over ten years now and we are so thankful for every day. We just lost my uncle on the other hand a couple of months ago because of an infection that he got on top of cancer. He may have survived if he had gone into the doctors office sooner when he was not feeling well.

NoSkiveez - I think I am glad I did not see that you were getting rid of the birds that you did. I would have probably driven 3 plus hours down there. I am trying to decide what standard breed I want to go with and have ordered some silkie eggs, so don't need any more right now, but not have been able to resist. I am sorry about your baby.

Back yard mutt baby, but it is my first home hatch. I am in love

The silkie did what silkies do and insisted on going broodie, so I let her have a small nest rather than fight her.

I am not great at keeping up and posting, but I do lurk alot. But dont worry, I'm harmless, I swear.

It was good to finally meet you in person. I was just telling hubby the same thing.
I split the eggs into thirds. 10 in the new incubator, 10 in the old one and 10 in Chrystals incubator. I put half the GCM's and half of the B/BWA's in Chrystals incubator. The half I put in over here I split between the two in and hoping for a much better hatch.

Didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket.

Good to see you today! I will call you in the AM. I don't think were going to go to Tucson tomorrow. I haven't heard back from Debi yet.

Your new baby is a beauty. Mayan has been so excited about riding your horse. She was bummed we didn't get to stop by your house today.

Lol... Well I'm so happy she loved it! I'm trying to develop some more animal addictions in your family. Lol! As if goats, chickens and quail aren't enough!

I'll see you tomorrow. Mayan can play with the horses then.

Pati, so sorry to hear about the cancer. I hate cancer!

It sounds like both you and your doctor have the correct attitude. I think that's half the battle.
I know we'll all be praying for you.
When we were driving to CA the first week of August I was thinking about you, wondering where you lived, etc...
Sounds like a peaceful wonderful place and I hope you are living there for many more years to come.

Roo just woke me up! It's why I'm posting at 5AM!

Tonopah Pati, I'm so sorry to hear about your fight with cancer. I know first hand how tough chemo and radiation can be. It's just no fun. I'm glad you'll have your flock as you get through this. Good luck, I'll be thinking about you.

Good Morning everyone, I am so touched by all of your prayers and well wishes, I couldn't see to read all at one time as tears of love and joy were flowing down my cheeks.

:smack as so many people feel the same way.

Gallo, My chickens, dogs and cat are my best reason for getting up, however the main reason is that God has given me another day, so I had better use it the best I can.
I am sorry that I will try to re-home 4 of my new roosters. They are my babies.

GoneHomeGrown2, I also watched my Mother deal with this for several years. She sure gave me a lot of strength, I really miss her.
Your babies are so cute. I just love babies, I find that I have a hard time going to the feed store when the babies are there, Sat. I got feed and sure enough they had some and of course I had to look at them, my fingers stated to itch to pick them up, however I knew if I did that I would buy some. Strength came from somewhere and I did not pick them up.

Whew that was a hard thing to do.

If I have missed anyone I thank you all and it is so good to see so many of you are still are here. Have a great day everyone. Pati
