Arizona Chickens

Yep they are herding you they do it with their girls to it's not super aggressive but I consider it passing the line or testing it

Gtg but if you have more questions I can expand further

They're tidbitting you. They think they're in charge, be careful.
So what response should I give them??? I picked him up today, and carried him around for a minute.... not sure what else to do... I won't be able to keep them for long if they go to full crow mode..... but certainly not at all if they get aggressive.
@BlueBaby OMG!!!:weeone of them finally layed an egg!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS:celebrate

My NN and Aloha babies.... hatched in July and August
sorry about posting all at once, but I'm not doing this again for a while..... I do not like my phone and computers relationship...... In order to get photos here.... I have to upload to google, download to my computer, take it out of a zip folder, reset the folder, and then finally I get to upload to BYC..... ughhhhh

I don't pick them up. I walk past my dude like he doesn't even exist. No hand feeding, nothing. I never walk around the chickens, I walk through
and they get out of my way. All of them, rooster included. I never sit on the ground or allow the roo to sit in my lap. He's not comfortable enough to eat from my hand let alone sleep with me nearby.

As long as he leaves the humans alone, he can stay. If not, my dogs and family like to eat chicken.

@BlueBaby
Are these chicks the same age as mine?

They say you have to present foods 7-8 times before a child (or uncooperative adult)
will consider eating it. If they don't eat it, don't give them other options, just let them wait until the next meal (no meal, no dessert)
.... skipping a single meal won't hurt most humans...
Ya I’m not that aggressive in making my kids eat other foods. In time they will try new foods. I never force them to eat anything. I was forced as a child and I still refuse to eat those foods. Not my type of parenting style.

I don't pick mine up neither. If you ever decide that you no longer want that boy, bring him back here and get 2 hens in trade for him! I wanted to hatch a roo just like that, but all of my boy's are coming out with feathered bib necks.

It's cool if you don't pick them up but it's a misconception if you think they are mean bc you do. You can still hand feed and hold them as long as you draw the line

Just walking with him won't work imo, like igorsmistress said walk through them or like I said in my other post is good imo

Good luck, be careful, no fear.
