Arizona Chickens

Hi everyone! Happy turkey day! :ya We have been so busy with the new baby, I haven't had a moment to drop in and say hi...I hope you're all doing well and that your flocks are enjoying this cooler weather! My husband is still in charge of chicken duties and he says he actually really enjoys it. He gives them treats and makes sure to pick them up for cuddles. Looks like I've converted him into a chicken lover. Baby Cora is doing great, she's growing like crazy (already growing out of a few outfits!) and working on strengthening her neck and back muscles with tummy time. I can't wait for her to be old enough to enjoy the chickens like my husband and I do. I will try to check in more often, I miss chatting with you all. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday!

Thank you, and you also! That's ok, as long as you are doing ok over there. We realize that you needed some time after having the baby. Nice that you converted your hubby!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I've started getting in to bread baking, so i'm trying a new recipe today, then making sweet potatoes to bring to the Thanksgiving feast at my in laws later today.

@SonoranChick enjoy sweet Cora! I had one of my babies a week before Thanksgiving and it was lovely to have a newborn for the holidays (plus I was off work through the holidays!). They grow so fast!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, also! Home-made bread is hard to beat!

I am lucky she was born during our best season for decent weather. And we are so excited to show her off to the family for the holidays!
We love to bake bread over here, what kind are you making? My favorite is a Rosemary/olive oil recipe from my husband's family.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I have a niece who’s birthday is today and was born on Thanksgiving. My sister still reminds me when I made her a plate for her dinner in the hospital I didn’t give her any stuffing lol. I wanted for myself later. Madison is 17 today.

Well, at least her birthday isn't always on the 22nd and being on Thanksgiving day. So, sometimes she will be able to get a good birthday meal, that won't be Turkey! :gig

Are you ready for your Tucson trip tomorrow?

Well, if she doesn't get better, you can come and get her. She would be for free.
Thank you, that's kind of you, my husband probably won't want another chickie baby lol he would have to make another enclosure that we took down from Picasso and chulita's baby days he'd do it but he fills in for me so much with them since the collusion I'd hate to pile on more work for him
Hopefully she'll be ok enough for you to keep her since she is yours :) that would be the best for ya. :)

So glad to hear from you, I've missed you around here too! I thought if your dh spent more time with them as a caretaker they would get to his heart :) that's what happened to my hubby. He tolerated them fine from a distance, when he had to step in more for me early this year on some days, they got to him. Bc they know he brings treats they get excited and just melt your heart I'm sure that makes it easier on you too!
I'm so glad Cora is doing well, enjoy your first holidays!

If I was a chicken, this is the size egg I would be comfortable laying.:lau
