@igorsMistress Any sign's of life from those egg's yet?

Nope. I'll update you

you know I'm checking them regularly! But you said you set them on the 27th and my temp is ranging 99.2 to 100.2 in my incubator. Might be a couple days yet.

Yes, I did. My egg's over here have stopped being fertile now from Charley. That cockerel that's taking his place has started crowing a few day's ago, so maybe he will start fertilizing them again soon. I break an egg open every night for giving Buster (the dog) his med.

The 3 blue eggs I got from you were infertile I think...I tossed them today, no development.

I'm going to turn the rest in a minute and check the 4 due now for pips but I don't see anything happening yet.

Thinking I sent you a email this morning about checking to see if the eggs that the angels are laying are fertile, I know Charlie makes good babies, they are in my small incubator (hold's 6 eggs max) I am just not sure that he's settled in enough yet to start doing his thing. I don't expect to rush things, I think the girls and he had been here for 1 or 2 weeks before they started laying again. So we'll see, tomorrow is day 1

You could have always cracked one of them open to check for the fertility, but I know with you being a hatch-a-holic you couldn't stand to see your incubator empty any longer! :lau

:lau:gig:lau:D, Don't let my husband see that last bit about being a hatch-a-holic, although he really ought to know that by now. I could have cracked one to see, but then that would have given me one less egg for the incubator.. The Angels have been using the new nest box set up, they seem to like it, got two from them yesterday. One in each nest box. The two boxes will be plenty for now, can get 2 hens in each comfortably, 3 if they want to snuggle.. I'll add another as we go if needed.

Morning peeps.. had a fun adventure helping a neighbor that had a client rehome part of their flock..We were told about 30 chickens needed new homes.. Glad we brought plenty of young muscle, there were 52 caught & rehomed.. Some (4) were sitting on egg’s so all the mommas went home with the same person.. other sad news our avatar “cheryl” the kitty chicken passed in the last heat wave, she was almost 7 years old.. This photo of her raising her last flock spring 2018.. We planted her under a new tree in their run.. I did get a alert we got our 7 year old plaque on here.. I don’t see it as I write this but maybe after the post it will show up..

Sorry that you lost your hen. She had a good long life with you during those almost 7 year's. Your 7 year plaque did show up here. I can see it.
