Arizona Chickens

@BlueBaby My flock is great - I have molters and non-molters and some who have PMS just because! I've always said molting flocks are like a room full of women all with PMS. They pick on each other, they fight when generally they just sit on the gossip plank telling stories, and they are just mean! Soon it'll be over. Getting ready to spray for bugs - I'm a little behind - should have been done in Sept but I try to do it twice a year. It'll be okay. The hard part is my group of tree huggers!! Hahahaha...... Depending on weather maybe about Thursday.....we'll see!

Yes, molting can be hard on them and some seem to molt harder than other's, I guess it's according to the age of them? My DH said he checked the weather and it say's rain should start late tomorrow afternoon. I guess the weed's will get watered again, huh? :gig

When my offsprings were in grammar school,(long ago) they participated in sports. A group of moms had these shirts made up when they went to the games. It might not be politically correct these days:idunno
Every one had a good time cheering on and no one was offended.

Good morning AZ :frow

The rain is falling steadily and the flock looks rather disgruntled. Poor babies. The plants are certainly enjoying it though. Haven't turned on the heat yet but we're thinking about it.

How's everyone doing?
I'm keeping my birds in their pen today, but actually they haven't left their coop where it's warm and dry. I'm afraid the javelina and others might be more depserate to come into the yard today since it's so cold wet and windy. Over 2/3 inch of rain overnight, power was out momentarily around the time of a loud thunder crash.

Steady rain here too. Chickies have dry areas but are not happy with just the small space - they are so spoiled!! Right now we have a lull - still windy but not big rain so I finally got my little girl dog to go out and do her business. She is not happy either with the rain!! The plants and trees are happy campers! Stay safe every one.

There's a break in the rain over here too, but the sky look's pretty dark in some areas in the distance. They say that the power went out yesterday in the city of Maricopa, and in some area more closer to me, but we didn't loose ours. The flock outside were ok, and I got a first egg from out of the newer brown NN girl that I got 3 week's ago I think it was. Later on today, I'll be going to go pick up 3 New Barnevelder pullet's to add to the flock.

I got the 3 new Barnevelder girl's over here now. There were 6 for me to pick from, so I took the 3 that had the better dark lacing. It sure is windy out there but there was a break in the rain, so that was good. I had to get me a hot cup of coffee before I got on here to let you know.
Congratulations!

It was windy and rainy here after a short break this afternoon. We had a chance to zip over to the pet store during that break but huge rain drops were hitting the windshield when we pulled into the driveway. The flock went to roost early tonight.
