Arizona Chickens

Everything is about money,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and when peeps want to have their backyard flocks, sooooooo many Municipalities prevent them.
What happened to THE LAND OF THE FREE.... I guess its just slipping away:old

I agree that it's slipped away. Everyone is staying in the house like good little children and not saying a thing.

I agree. Maybe they did it so that the price for them will be higher later after we get out from this house arrest thing?
I dunno. I just can't believe they'd dump all that food considering people are going to food banks regularly to be able to feed their families. I guess it's chickens in this case but people could still eat them. What a waste.

Afraid most companies now a days, think with their wallets not with their hearts and heads, prices will be through the roof after this mess is over and we're going to be lucky if a bunch of the places that have had to either shut down or pare down their service will be able to open back up, we've got 3 restaurants here where I live, all have had to close sit down dining. a pizza place, they are doing pretty good, they already had short days of operation and most of it was to go, then we have a Mexican/American diner, they are hurting because the bulk of their business was sit down. We had a new one open up, a little fancier version of our diner. They just opened this year, their thing was sit down service, they've had to cut their days and hours back, even with becoming like a small general store they are still hurting. Sonic is here, they can't get your order right or even give you your whole order, 2 nights in a row they screwed up mine. I've gotten home and found where they failed to give me one of the meals that I've ordered, I hate having to go back to get my order straight, I have to drive over 1/2 way across our valley to do that. I've started pulling over in their parking lot and checking my order even if they've assured me it's right and it's all there.

On a sadder note, I've lost my little Spot this morning, the only thing that I can think of is he got stepped on. a little NN.

I'm sorry about spot starri. I lost one who got trapped under something from my last hatch. I felt bad about it too.

Was pointed to this thread in my self intro to the site... and just hit the watch button (just found it after my 4th day here 😅)... how’s everyone’s chicks/chickens doing in the heat today? I live down near the Huachuca mountains and it’s 86° out right now and I have all my 1-3 week old chicks out in the covered run (with me watching them)...

Welcome! I’m located in Glendale and it’s currently 98 degrees, looking at 100+ degrees starting this week. :sick And to think this is only the start of summer! What type of chickens are you raising currently ? :)

Have 3 golden sex-links, 3 cuckoo marans, 4 bantams (not sure what they are bantams of but they look like the 2 previously mentioned ones), and 2 EEs

Also this is my run and coop (nesting boxes aren’t installed yet due to their age but they will be on the back door of the trailer we converted (it has a bent axle and can’t be used on the road)

The run is 18x8 with 3 ft of hardware cloth on the bottom and a 2 ft dig skirt of hardware cloth the top portion is poultry netting (I know not the best thing but the hardware cloth is high enough to prevent most snakes from entering) the top of the run is also covered in poultry netting to prevent our hawk population from getting them.

The coop is 6x10 the roosts are 5 ft long and 2 ft apart and 3 ft from any walls... I have an order in for 3 windows to put in (one on every side but the south side (pictures taken before pine shavings were added)
