Arizona Chickens

I only removed her because the blood seemed to be attracting the other hens and had them peck at her repeatedly :( it’s the same hen that was broody a few weeks ago and she didn’t seem very happy being back in the kennel haha
You can get some blu kote for the injury. It's antiseptic and hides the red.

Is that a common problem? Not eating or drinking? I think among the 12 I have I showed maybe 3 of them where the food was and made them drink some water... everyone else just followed the leader I guess 🤷‍♂️...
Not in my experience. Chicks absorb the last of the yolk just before hatch so sometimes it'll be a day or two before necessity dictates they eat. There can be issues though so best to make sure.

Does anyone know of any good poultry processors in Arizona? I have 13 Pekin ducks and I’ve grown too attached and have no experience in butchering but I don’t have the space for all of the anymore.
People are paying good money right now for egg laying ducks/ chickens, it's a bonanza. You might want tho try selling them. They are sold out everywhere.

Check out Moon Baby! First to try the new swing!

How old are they? Pekins are easiest to process ~7 to 8 weeks, just when all the pin feathers have cleared up. It is difficult to find a place to process just a few birds. It is nice to get an experienced person to show you how to do it the first time. I can understand getting attached, they are so friendly. I agree with the previous comment, you could probably sell them easier than finding a place to process them for you, if you have changed you mind about eating them.
