Arizona Chickens

How did you get the aloha chicken? Does she do well in the heat?
From a chicken friend, I think he is helpIng the person that started the breed. From what I understand she want more yellow legs. But don’t quote me on that. Yes so far, they just started laying. I did not loose any this last summer.

Yes, she was breeding for the yellow leg's. My current rooster that I have now has the lighter colored leg's. My last 2 rooster's had the darker leg's on them.

Sommer is still around. She is working hard to have the breed accepted to the APA before she has to move in 3 years. Alaho's were bred here in Arizona, Phoenix actually and do well in our climate. Your hen is of the color type called 'Dun' I have Aloha's and am breeding the 'Confetti' type.

I really love their look, we have a “dun” too, her name is Molly. She has lots of white.

Ugh, at 1st it didn’t do full image, so I hit the tab again & tadaa 2 appear

I wonder if she is still selling hatching egg's or chick's for those. I wouldn't mind making more of the NN/Aloha one's. My Louie is a pretty good sized NN. Or, I could go with a breeding group of those if the boy's wouldn't be too closely related to the girl's.
