But if it's your egg in my bator that wins.....

I'll be over in 10 minutes!!!

You were the first to post, if you are serious, I'll have you come pick them up on Friday afternoon sometime... or I can put them in cartons and have my wife give them to you in the AM on Friday.

Went out to make certain all the chickens were in bed and found a newly dead hen (FBCM)...
Looks like it was perhaps an internal laying problem, but she looked fine and happy at lunch.

I'm glad I'm hatching more.

wow that is some great info on the vaccination, thank you. I was looking at some to order myself and about fell over when I saw that it was like 2000 doses in one vial. I've done horse, dog and cat vaccinations before and never needed more than the 5 dose packs.

I did not plan well for timing. I am going to only have room if I toss any eggs that I candle today at 10.5 days. I am very timid at my candling as this is my first time incubating, but want to join in on the New Years hatch and plan on throwing in some eggs from my girls. They would be strictly for more egg layers, but some fun combos I would like to check out.

I am sorry about your hen.

I am kind of glad you are too far away for me to come by and buy some of you birds. Each time I see you list them I am so tempted and would over do it.

Very adorable puppy. Hopefully, you can get the conditioning solid on him to leave your birds alone. Montezuma is cool isnt it? I have not been there for years and it is less than 30 minutes away.

I am looking forward to the eggs hatching but it is my first batch, so do not have my hopes too high. Everything seems to be going well though. Very slight temp fluctations of 2 or 3 degrees and back to 99/100 very quickly. The humidity has been dropping a bit faster than I like, but I have been adding a lit bit every couple of days and keeping it between high 30s and mid 20s.

I love it. I randomly ran into a guy today that really enjoys his guineas and wants the 2 I have left. I should probably send them to freezer camp, but just dont feel like it and am rather tired of them. I dont dislike the guineas themselves, but am not fond of the way they bully the hens and I have them to "guard" the hens, so I am done with them.

Oh Jeez. I feel like such an adolescent. I was all hopped up to get the kids chickens for Chanukkah and totaly committed to NoSkivvies for 3 Silver laced Wyandottes. Now my wire order is MIA, and I feel a fool. Just a note to newbies (before I PM NoSkivvies) Build before you BUY.

I'm at work tonight fighting to stay awake. Was up til 3:30am watching to see my first chick hatch. I bet this is what Mahoni's New Years Hatch will be like. At least then I'll be able to sleep in.

True! I think I spend more time around my bators during lockdown and hatch than any other time.... and if you are up waiting for kids that are out celebrating anyway.... you may as well be doing something fun... like watching chicks hatch.

No Skiveez!!! You are selling 45 chickens? YOWSWERS! How many do you have? I sure wish we lived closer to you. I would love to come and get some of those. How much do you sell them for?

As it stands I think I quit counting around 70 adult birds. That doesn't count the youngsters I am keeping. I still have to sort out which are the best representation of the breed standards. I have something really exciting in the works and will need some extra coop space. I'm really wanting to maintain focus on breeds that are critical. I want to maintain a smaller number of birds as well. When we fill food buckets, we fill 50 pounds every third day and only half of our birds have food buckets, the rest I have to feed.
