Arizona Chickens

Anyone want a couple of drakes? They are surplus here, we all know that no one wants extra drakes, just thought I would ask. One is a Golden Cascade, the other is a white Campbell layer. The Golden Cascade is a surprisingly meaty, heavy guy. The white Campbell is lean enough to fly over the 2' fence into the compost bin. 4 males and 4 ducks = too much activity and chasing!

A few years ago I read that there's actual scientific study evidence, that the egg-laying genetics of the drakes, passes along to their offspring. So if someone had some blue swedish or other lesser-laying breeds they could get one of these drakes and the offspring would lay more like the drakes' sisters.

If no one takes them, you can do this with them:

I could probably hatch mixes like that right now, man are they busy guys! The White Campbel is really overdoing it on the Ancona duck.;) She likes the Rouen Drake best.

I had some duck in France, they pound the breast meat flat &grill it -- YUM! :drool But it's a lot of work, and If someone had a used for them alive, I would drive them over today. They get along together fine in jail without the girls.

I'm going to be looking for some canning supplies this year, because I want to start canning a few thing's that will be shelf stable. I will also be thinning out a bunch of book's off the shelves and boxing those up to make room for the jars of canned good's.
