Arizona Chickens

Chaos in the coop!!! Elsa has hit puberty and all h*ll has broke loose 🔥 i was so excited, she was squatting for the first time, then swung her head over, bit my hand and drew blood! Thennn Daisy, who loves me, said oh nooo (more like squaaaaaaakk) jumped on Elsa and was trying to fly away with her face, so i broke that up, then Minnie wanted to join in.. 🙄 stress!!!

I let them duke it out, without any eye loss, and i think Elsa got the memo... i hope it gets sorted out.. really need that chicken tv setup. I gave them some rose petals and there seems to be peace for the moment.

No rewards around here for fighting! Or biting the had that feeds! :lau

I got 2 nice egg's this morning that are going in my fertile egg carton that's being prepped for the incubator.
My neighbor who went with me to pick up the NNs loves the Alohas, she was telling me she wants some without Naked Necks! You probably would not want to breed any of those for her, would you?

Wait an hour and the weather will completely change here! Now clouds are breaking and sun is shining on the still drifting down flakes of snow. Gotta love Prescott!
Yes I loved Prescott at 6:30 this morning when I had to take hubby to VA. I'll "love" prescott valley tomorrow morning, when they're supposed to have 3 inches of snow over a layer of ice! Wait, isn't it almost Easter??

May 15 is the magic date to plant here, according to my neighbor, a lifelong Prescott native. One reason I have not gone and bought that incubator that I hear calling my name, I would rather not brood chicks, or ducklings, before then!

Good idea! I think the last frost date is similar where I am, although I think I'm zone 7 at 4000 ft. I'm still not used to having snow in this area, much having it stick. That used to be unheard of for Cordes/spring valley.

Still called Zone 7 here, all that means is the lowest low temp in winter, it does not say that that low can occur at Easter!

I was giving dressed cockerels to my nearest 2 neighbors who have to listen to the crowing.
You mean well dressed like these :old :idunno :yesss:
