Arizona Chickens

Well it's 75 degrees here and I finally had to put out the ice bottles and ice cubes in the water. I had tried to spray the legs of the birds, but only got one. I'll have to block off areas because once again I've managed to "design" a run that makes it easy to get away and impossible to get caught:(. But at least two of the new birds are laying and all of them were singing!
Here it’s about 91° but this Sunday is supposed to hit 99°, I’m not ready for the heat just yet!

I can send you some seeds GRATIS,,, I do not use any herbacides on my lawns for 2 reasons,, Chickens, and children :thumbsup
I don't either... don't like endocrine disruptors, cancer, or exposing my dogs, kids, me, wildlife, or edible foods to chemicals. Anddd.. i used to treat the front yard and not the back.. front yard weeds would grow back with a vengeance the next season, whereas the backyard had been hand pulled, and would have "average" growth. They are a temporary solution with too many consequences.

I just sprayed off the outside units, will open them up to get leaves out.. but.. i think we are acclimated, feels cool inside to me (about 78-80 degrees). That might change this weekend though, so the ac's will be ready, just in case!

they're all laying! the light brown one is from the "cockerel" midnight majesty maran aka barred rock I guess... the one andalusian, one from today and one from yesterday at the top of the picture are from one of the MMM, she lays the darkest. The one who bites my fingers layed the speckled egg, her first, today.

Pretty eggs!!

yes and the birds aren't supposed to look like barred rock! the light egg is from the barred pullet, the medium brown one is not much darker than my amberlinks layed.
That is about the color my Barred Hollands from Sandhill lay. They should lay white, but not all of them do. The small light ones in this photo are Barred Holland eggs.
