Arizona Chickens

Curious to find out how effective these are. I still only use the fly traps. Purchase some, and use my home- made ones. I keep about 5 in separate areas, and they do trap a gazzilion flies.

I use the large sized fly trap bag thing's too. It fill's up pretty fast, but there's some flies that seem to not find their way over to it. If these fly predator thing's work, I'll need to try to figure out how to breed them myself instead of having to buy a new batch every month like they say?

I think you would need a supply of fly maggots for them to breed. I read the description, it sounds like what they send is pupae that are fly larva hosting the parasite. The adult probably lays it's egg on a maggot, like the wasp does on a tomato horn worm. Might be an interesting project!

Are you going to try it too?

No, I want less flies, not to raise more for my fly parasites! If I were to raise insect food for my birds, I would try soldier flies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermetia_illucens
Or meal worms.
I would be interested in getting a package of those parasites, though, they might get established here on their own there is plenty of food for them!

Well, I thought that I would start out by trying a bag of them. When and if the monsoon come's it will dampen everything and the flies will be even worse then because of the wetness and humidity.

I think the Monsoon might be early here this year, we are having warm, cloudy, afternoons already. :fl Maybe some wishful thinking?
