Arizona Chickens

Not up here in Chino Valley - but I did help neighbor1 chase neighbor2's guineas back that way - but some went to neighbor3's pasture (where they originally grew up). I will never have guineas unless i'm on the streets and need a security alarm!
The guineas might survive to become feral, they are pretty wild to begin with.

Yesterday's storms in Chino Valley gave us about 1/2" rain, a broken tree limb (~8" diameter) that did not hit the mobile home (Thank God!), and it blew a chicken tractor a couple of feet and landed on my best Minorca's leg! She was caught under there and in shock so I took her inside, cleaner her up, dried her off and even prayed for her. No broken bones that I can see - but a small open wound on her wing that doesn't look too bad (Thank God again!)

I will try to find a way to tie the chicken tractor down today - the winds were not just microbursts - they were gusting probably way over 50mph for a good 10 minutes and then another line of similar storms for another 10 min. I'm spreading some pasture grass seed today I think.

And another Roger/Cowgirl NN baby hatched last nite! So now up to 3 NN and 4 Barred Holland chicks for current total of 7 chicks. I plan to turn off incubator tomorrow if 2 remaining eggs show no hatching signs. The 2 week old hatch gave me 3 chicks so current total of chicks in my office is 10 + 1 grown Monorca.

All of your birds are so lucky to have you! I hope your Minorca has a full, speedy recovery!

I have a couple of corkscrew anchors like people use to tie out their dogs that I just keep around for tie down purposes. They are pretty cheap. We got them at yard sales for almost nothing, but about $10 at Petsmart I think. Extra big nails would work if you have them, too.

I hope your Minorca heals up well.

Tent stakes might help also, and you might already have some of those on hand if you ever go camping.

Did all of the Naked Neck's hatch out the same color, or is there some variation's?
