Arizona Chickens

I don't know if we will need one but I would love to see your misting setup.
This is the mister that I use that's listed at Amazon, but you might be able to find the same one or similar local. Then if you want a timer for it, buy what you think is best for your need. I bought extra nozzle's so if one of them stop working I have backup's. Any of the nozzle's that might get clogged can be soaked in a little bit of some CLR. Do not put the mister in or too close to the coop, so that the floor of your coop will not get wet. I have a dirt floor in my run, and hang the mister up at the end that's away from the coop. You will see more fly's being attracted, but you can buy some of those Rescue Bag Fly Traps that will trap fly's. Do not hang them up inside of the coop or run through, and it's best to hang them a few feet away outside of it. They stink.

Thank you so much!

The "kids" from Ideal are 9 weeks old today. There are 9 left--Some of the obvious cockerels and a trouble-maker that was probably a boy went to freezer camp. At that age, they're very tender and much more manageable to process and cook. (live weight under 3 lbs, dressed over a pound and under 2 lbs, like game hens). I think I can hold off processing the rest of the boys until I get absolute proof, like crowing. The black easter egger is probably a real ameraucana, but I'm not sure it's a pullet. Some pictures of the gang:

What pretty babies!! Gotta keep those egg layers.

I spent the day getting more of the top on the new run of the large coop. Things kept going wrong, so there's still about an hour's worth of work to go (unless something else goes wrong), so it should finally be done this week and ready for a tarp to cover the entire run to help prevent bird flu.

I need to take some baby pics, too. One of them is a cockerel, and it looks like he's going to be blue cuckoo, but they're still only a month old.
