Arizona Chickens

That brown one in the first picture also a girl. Those one's that have the larger darker pink comb's could be boy's.
I think the ones with the bigger, pink combs are also bigger birds, they have more white in the barred cuckoo birds, so yay! My freezer will be happy and I'll hopefully still have several girls. I think I have a cuckoo and a barred pullet, they both have very small orange combs and are smaller. I think one is by herself on a concrete block, don't think I included that picture. And still hoping the black one with the small comb and ear muffs is a girl.

The one above on the cement block also look's girl to me.

My babies all insisted on being on the same roost -- the highest one! I had put about half of them up on the 30 inch bar, the rest jumped up, and they all migrated to the top bar. I figured they wouldn't all fit, sure enough one ended up on the ground. I had to remove the tallest roost bar and put them all on the 30 inch and the one that is 8 inches away and a few inches lower. I just checked and all is quiet. Kids!

Hi everyone. I'm thinking of ordering some chicks from Hoover's this Friday. We really only want two or three of each of Black Australorps and Buff or Dark Brahmas, but of course we have to buy 5 of each, minimum of 15.

If anyone would like to get in on the order, take a few babies off our hands, or has an alternate local source, please let me know!

Eta - I'm in Dewey but willing to meet up somewhere within an hour of here. Also, Hoover's because they are the only place I can find who will have them this month and I am impatient.

That's great! Hoover's will almost certainly arrive in 2 days vs 3, so that's very good for mail order. You could also sell the extras on craigslist, lots of people up here have chickens, and many of them will be able to integrate the young birds in with their existing hens.
