Thank you! It's usually on my nightstand because I do love it.Well that is just gorgeous!
Yes, they did. They are bigger and older now, so they have all of the feathering. In the picture that you posted, the girl is on the left, and the boy is to your right. Notice how the girl is darker colored, and has the better eyeliner? Notice how the boy has all of that white on top of it's head?@BlueBaby Do your chicks look like these.?? These are Bielefelders from McMurray Hatchery site. If you could explain how the sexing difference is determined. What do you see in this pix??

I can imagine how shocking that would be to see.Such cute babies!!
Not to change the subject, but this is just too weird not to share. I was driving home today and saw something on the side of the highway. My first impression was that it looked like a body. I decided that I was just overtired and had an overactive imagination and kept going, but after a few minutes I decided to turn around for another look.
Those were definitely two legs wearing pants and shoes sticking out from the grass. Oh, cr@p. I hoped I had enough battery life left on the phone to call it in to the police if needed. I turned around and pulled over near it, and saw that it was a life sized Halloween decoration. In May. By the highway. I don't know if it fell from someone's vehicle or if it was somebody's idea of a prank. But, seriously, it looked just like....
It's been one of those days.![]()
The white one look's to be a girl with that light pink smaller comb. The 3/8/22 ideal chicks are 8 weeks old today. I took away the baby brooder but put up the light in their big birds roost just to make sure they don't panic (has a smaller watt red bulb still). I think tomorrow I'll try them with the grandpa's treadle feeder. Some of them sprouted ear lobes a couple of days ago. The mystery roadrunner has blue ear lobes (or dots on the lobes) but they don't show so well.
Yay! I was on the fence earlier about that one, but lately had been hoping girl. I think I have 4-6 girls, depending. The white one look's to be a girl with that light pink smaller comb.
That brown one in the first picture also a girl. Those one's that have the larger darker pink comb's could be boy's.Yay! I was on the fence earlier about that one, but lately had been hoping girl. I think I have 4-6 girls, depending.
