I'm so sorry to hear about your chick TT!

it looked like a cutie too.

How old do birds seem to be when hawks leave them alone? Or do they never leave them alone? I'm always paranoid with my girls walking around the backyard during the day even though I've yet to see a hawk but I know they're around here somewhere.. but my girls are already pretty big now.

Tucson (TT!).......I didn't ask my DH about those bators on ebay........I just got one! LOL......I think I heard his gut twist when I told him what I did, tho..... LOL

I ended up with a Hova Bator 1602N. My good friend, Rita, offered to set it up at her house (mine is veeeeeery small). I'm going to run a 'test hatch' first, and then...........Let the hatching begin! LOL

ANYONE IN AZ HAVE A GOOD PLACE TO BUY GRAINS FOR CHICKENS THE HARD TO FIND ONES SUCH AS QUINOA AND KELP, ARE THOSE GRAINS OK SO MAYBE NOT BUT ANYWAY i WANT TO GET SEED ALSO GOOD PLACES,,,???

TT--Love the disguise! I am so sorry about your chick, though. That is terrible! Our coop is covered with chicken wire. The only things we have that try to get in are coyotes and javelinas, though.

kera! - I'm not sure where you can find those grains, but I can help you find the "Caps Lock" key.

(You could try Sunflower Market, they have bulk bins and good sales - I've seen Quinoa for $0.60 a pound - But it is aimed at people so it is probably more expensive than chicken specific grain).
