Think girl, think girl! Thanks! It's 2 little baby hen's now. Knowing my luck, the next one to hatch will be a boy?
I'll be joining that Easter hatch-a-long here at BYC too, but those egg's I will use will be from my flock instead of shipped egg's. So, there will be some boy's too sooner or later.Think girl, think girl!![]()
Just keep an eye on her today to see if you notice anything else that's different about her.My friendliest pullet is not her normal self this morning. She always greets me whenever I am out back. If I approach the run, she's usually right by the door. When I enter the run, she follows me around.
Today she stayed in a secluded spot when I went in the run. She slowly walked out and drank some water but would not eat from my hand when I offered food-- a definite first. She typically lays an egg a day. Laid yesterday but not today (yet).
Any thoughts? Anything further I can do?
She laid an egg earlier, but she still wasn't her normal happy self. She did go out with the others an hour before sunset but she did more standing around than foraging. She rejected the dried mealworms which is unusual. But she did eat some of the canned catfood I put out.
This eve she went back to roost a half hour before sunset-- also unusual.
