Arizona Chickens

If you are really wanting fertile egg's, there's always getting some from somebody else that has some.
I might have to do that. I don't want anyone getting hurt and with my EE girl thinking she has to protect all the other girls. She might end up getting hurt or they might all end up getting hurt trying to keep him away. I wanted to add to my girls without having to spend a bunch at TS or Cal Ranch.

I had two flocks of 6 girls each (What I THOUGHT were 6 girls), they just didn't want to be one big flock so I respected their boundaries and gave them two coops. But unfortunately I ended up with one female that was a huge bully and we ended up having to cull her plus a male, and in another flock ended up with three boys so culled all the males and ate them before i found out that there are people willing to take them in... so that puts three in one flock and four in the other. The one that had four, one of the girls just laid down and passed away. She was laying fine and there was no sign of disease, she was out with the girls and then went into the coop and that was the end. She had no seizures or anything. So i was wanting to get more through breeding to build up a bigger flock and use the roo's for food while the hens for eggs. Cause meat is way too expensive! I only have food stamps to feed the house and it just isn't enough to buy healthy food to keep the house running. I don't want to become someone that just buys food in cans or food in the freezer section that you just heat up. I love to cook.

I can understand that. The thing is though that with most breed's once you do the hatching, you will have boy's too. If it's a breed that you cannot tell if they are male or female right away, then you have to grow them out until you can. I got tired of doing that, and that's the main reason why I am now just doing these Bielefelder's because as soon as they hatch I know what sex that they are. The boys grow into a good eating size.

Where did you get your babies from? I would love to get an easy to tell what gender is what chicken. I know some barred rock are easy to tell, but i have had two batches of those and ended up with only two girls... LOL the others all male and they LOOKED female from the lack of yellow on their heads D<

I sell hatching eggs and chick's from mine.

The hens are going crazy right now. 2 nesting boxes side by side, but 2 hens are in one of them together with a third hen standing out of the box yelling at them.
Lmao sounds like my girls. I have two buffs and an RIR in one coop and the two buffs stand outside and scream at my RIR then the two buffs go in and squabble over one nesting box while the RIR screams at them from outside. NOW they wont sleep in their coop cause of all the squabbling over their nesting boxes even though there is 4 boxes in the coop D< so everyone has a box plus an extra! Instead they sleep in their run... good thing they are in an enclosed area where nothing can get in but mice and bugs..

Yeahs and how much for the chicks ? I would do eggs but i have to wait two weeks to get the two things i need for a crockpot incubator :D
There will be 2 types of chicken chick's in this hatch besides the duck's: full Bielefelder's, and Bielefelder/Naked Neck mixes.
