Arizona Chickens

at one point in time my garden was choked full of nut grass. It took us two years to dig it up, sort through the dirt and physically remove all of the nut grass. I have since gotten some spray from Home Depot that is specifically designed to kill nut grass but it's expensive.. but it works... I'm very careful how I spray it though.

For bermuda, I've carefully sprayed roundup and that's worked.....

My garden was eaten by rabbits. I even put rabbit fence up, but they didn't seem to be detered by the fencing. I only got 5 sour strawberries and 3 watermelons 2 yellow meat, 1 orange meat). I'm going to plant in a different area this year, maybe we will get better results.

I would really like to have them. I just don't know if I have room. Just finished the second pen and as it stands I have 20 to put in it. I've got to get that down to about 10 or 12. Planning on giving a few to one of the teenage girls at Church (if Mom and Dad allow her to have them). Then I have to see how many of my Hatchlings turn out to be Roos. How old are they? I may be able to put them in with my 8 week olds?

Pooh. I has a dog for years that would dig up my gardens. My current dog, Cricket, ate my broccoli starts, but now that the raised beds are in she's too short to get to it. Phew.

Mahonri, what kind of squash did you plant?

Bermuda is a bear. Wish I'd never ever seen it. Our last house has a couple patches of nutgrass. t's a pain. We sprayed and sprayed and dug and it just kept coming. I lined our raised beds with weed fabric and am hoping that keeps the nasty bermuda out.
