Oh the rooster comment. Ive been asked if my rooster was laying. And it was hilarious. She said "is HE laying yet?" I bet I could have sold them a bridge.
My next appt is on the 8th and I'm hoping to find out then
We found out with our 1st cause it was exciting, 2nd because the first was a boy and we were curious to see if it was a girl, with the twins because it was twins and we HAD to look but our last was a Surprise. We didn't want to know. I didn't want an ultrasound because i was sure they would call the baby "he" or "she" and they did. I was so upset. I went to my doctor and ranted about her calling the baby "him". When the baby was deliveredand they showed me the baby, I thought, that's not a boy!
You would think you would have noticed an ostritch visiting your coop. So are you going to crack it open and see if it has 2 yolks?
It definitely has 2 yolks. Definitely. I'm not going to crack it now, though... DH thinks it's pretty cool when he only has to do half the work for the same amount of breakfast so he gets all the mongoids.
Congrats!
If you can't hatch it, at least blow it out and keep it!
We have a couple of those that we kept from our barred rock, along with a few pullet bullets and one that's really shaped like a bullet.
We put them on the shelf in the family room along with a picture of the girls holding their chickens. Makes a great conversation piece.
On a side note:
My 15 yr old is taking ENG 101 right now and her current paper is about chickens.
My 18 yr old's facebook status when our chicken died was "In memory of Ursula. A chicken with a tiny brain that ate a screw"
My 12 yr old does her math in the yard with a chicken on her lap and a dog standing guard.
Our chickens have really added to our lives.
From 'Holy Butt Pain..." to wannabe parrot chickens (mine do this too sometimes) to ostrich liaisons...wow
You all made my evening!!
BTW, I am very much a chicken noob, but thought I had 2 Americaunas (from Ideal poultry)...... but they might be Easter Egger pullets instead? I kinda thought those were the same breed of chicken??
Guess I need to do some researching. The only thing I can say about the 2 Americauna/EE pullets is that they are vocal girls. I hope the neighbors don't complain.....if they do, I may have 2 sweet banty pullets available...
