Arizona Chickens

I rehomed the Houdan Flock today. I think there were 20 total, plus I gave them.some Silkie freebees to keep the Houdan chick from my NYD hatch company. A real nice family.

NoSkiveez, you are going to be our breed specialist. Looks like you are trying out a lot of them

Enjoy your day off, and try to take more videos of your son.

LOL, he is on the blog too ... once (but I just started it last week). He'll be at school all day, and then he's going to a friend's house, so I'll be stuck with more chicken videos

I think I'm going to paint the inside of the coop today or tomorrow, maybe the outside too, then this weekend we can do the shingles. It has some paint on the outside, but it's not complete.

Do you miss them? Are you trying to get your flock down to countable levels? Or are you just replacing them with another breed?

I am hoping the feed store in Tucson has some more chicks Friday. We decided it is a great time of year to add to our flock and I don't know any breeders here wanting to sell. I guess I"ll never get my BLRW. <sigh>

Here are pictures of my chicks

Very cute and curious looking chicks!

I have been calling around all morning looking for specific breeds all over Tucson. I wish I lived closer to town. Most places will have one breed we are looking for in 2 weeks, another store will have another breed in a month, on and on. Maybe I will just stick with the store I like and get what I get. I know they will buy my rooster, at least. I like to have it all planned out because once I go in and see the chicks, it's all over. I can't leave without some!
