Arizona Chickens

Well Lacey seems to be doing fine, although she hasn't "joined" the flock. She hangs all afternoon in the coop with the door open, but at least the EE's aren't pecking her.

So, the hens I picked up today are red sex links - hatch mates to the 3 I already had at home. I brought the 2 newbs home, and the others sisnt even blink an eye. They must look enough like the original 3 that they can't tell a difference & there wasn't a single fight. Sweet! Maybe getting identical chickens when adding to a flock is they key??

Thanks, Constance. I am a little nervous because her twin is looking a little less perky today. I'm hoping I am just paranoid and maybe she is a calm breed. One of the California whites is crazy. He must be a rooster. It is way bigger than the rest and pecks everything...constantly! The rest run from me, but he runs up and pecks me, and he's only a few days old!

cluckin'--Congrats!!!

This wind is something else. I had to take the clothes off the line and just wait for the dryer today. I got tired of picking the clothes up out of the dirt and having to wash them again. I think Mary Poppins must be coming to town. Oh, I hope she comes to my house!
