Arizona Chickens

Hey everybody! Not to brag, but with all the eggs we are getting it is hard to remember which eggs are freshest. What does everyone do for keeping track of their eggs for consumption? I was thinking of getting a date stamp with food grade ink but that seems pricey. I found food grade markers for way less. http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/bold-tip-primary-food-markers-751503/

Well, lucky you. Glad everything is going well there! How many eggs are you talking? The idea I like the most, although I don't have one, yet, is the EggSkelter from Manna Pro. There have been some excellent reviews and I believe it was featured on the frontpage of BYC at one point. I think they look great and seem very functional, especially for your request. It claims to hold two dozen "standard" sized eggs. It was originally in the U.K., and if I recall correctly from when I was in London a decade ago, their regular eggs were closer to our extra large eggs. 'Course, they also don't refrigerate the eggs, either.

Hi Everyone,
We live in Glendale and my 9year old daughter is interested in entering her Speckled Sussex at the fair next year. Does anyone know how we go about doing that? What do we do to prepare my daughter and her hen. We are first time chicken keepers. Her hen is 5 months old and is okay with being picked up and looked at.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

There is a 4-H group that is just starting in North Phoenix first meeting is today at at 2pm here is the facebook page http://www.facebook.com/DesertHillsGrowingAndShowing
