Arizona Chickens

I live in el mirage as, in Thompson ranch community. I am interested in hens but not sure it's allowed. Does anyone know if it's allowed? Thanks

That depends on if you have an HoA or not. If you do, then you need to look at the HoA agreement to see if they put any restriction on chickens. Otherwise, the El Mirage city code is online, and this is the section about animals http://www.amlegal.com/nxt/gateway....es$fn=default.htm$3.0$vid=amlegal:elmirage_az
Poultry, which would include chickens, are under livestock, and the only restrictions seem to be that the enclosure is kept clean, the animal isn't being abused, and isn't running loose.

It is a very sad day for my family...

Wife in hospital diagnosed with with advanced lung cancer today....

She went in feeling bad, we had no clue...

It has also reached her brain...

We need your prayers or good vibes...

Barb is only 51....

There is nothing they can do at this point...

It was not supposed to go like this and we still are raising our last child Mikayla (14) love more and hate little my friends, because life can be so short.

Oh, Southerndesert, I am so sorry! I hope they can keep her comfortable through what time you have left together. My thoughts are with you all.

I was on the silkie Fourm.. One family has had a blizzard where they are.. So I asked if they use anything to keep them warm
They replied " no just deep Shavings & a little insulation in the coop"

I remember ready here on our Fourm that some people would use heat lamps for their chickens... We got to 25' here in Tempe
a few weeks ago... We did nothing... But then I was thinking that it was probably someone who had baby chicks outside? Not
sure but found it interesting...
