omg, is it ok that that made me cry a little bit??????? note to self, next time brood my duckies under a silkie. you know you are gonna keep that cute little duck chris.

mama hen and i "set" duck eggs at the same time. hers under a silkie, mine under a muscovy. my scovy stepped on both her duckies yesterday as they were hatching and killed them

Baby doing good this morning. I found it trying to "waddle" all around this morning. Mama called and it "waddled" back with some assistance from me. Loves to cuddle under mama's wing.. Did the 3rd one hatch?

I know those....they are the "cecal" ones. Normal, and seems like they poop 'em every 3-4 poops(?). But yes, STINKY.

Crack me up!! My hubby was like our girls are fine... The biology of chicken poop is good to know.. Good to see that one photo with their inter's in the poo.. It would freak me out.. & It would be time consuming trying to figure out how poo'd that??

Only one?? No chicks?? How long do duck take to hatch? I am hoping to add quail.. When it is time... Does anyone know how long quail take?? It is probably the same as chicken & duck.. Fabulous photos girl ..

Cute duck! So sweet!

One of my SLW layed her first egg today! I have 3 that are 23 weeks old, so the other two should start any day now. We got 4 eggs yesterday and 6 today. If we keep getting these numbers, no more store eggs! I have 14 of our chickens' eggs in the fridge now...enough for one breakfast.
