woot! picked up a 1950s redwood incubator. ;-) waiting for it to get all the way to temp now. have 10 buff orpington eggs in the styrobator, due next weekend, with another 9 and 7 Welsh Harlequin ducks due the following weekend.
Got some birds sorted out this afternoon, a pretty red EE boy penned with a solid white, solid black and a black & white EE girls, for more EE, plus a young Welsummer pullet laying fairly dark with speckles, an old Wellie hen and an old Wellie/Leghorn cross that lays about 3 extra large jumbo eggs a week, for OE.
Here's my Lil' Red

So my little Barred Rocks and Buff Orpingtons are 5 weeks old now. Can I tell the sex yet? What should I look for?

All of my Barreds look like your pics. 2 of the BOs look like they might be Roos. One is big and well feathered. The other is a bit smaller and half assed feathered. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.
Maybe will have to take a trip down your way some day. That's it! I give up! Now you have to come over with your camera and take pictures for me! They are just too good! The first picture is simply amazing, and I love the dog looking through the screen door!![]()
