Very nice photos... Thank you for sharing girl...

Hi everyone! So happy to hear about Gallo's roo rehoming. What a great community to make that happen. It's sooo windy here in Scottsdale right now. I think it has started to rain, too. I took a flashlight out to the coop to see if the girls are still sleeping on the ground and they are. Will they move? They can go up the ladder to the second floor or sit like they are in several inches of straw. Or all but the silkies can can roost. They won't sit there getting wet will they? Or will they - it's pitch black out there. Which brings me to another random thought. Is it just mine or are silkies monumentally dumb? Mine are so freaking unfriendly but I could live with that. They're fun to watch. But they will run into walls trying to avoid me. Last random: Are any AZ peeps "experts" on Marans? I need to know if these are all three blues or if two are black. Thanks for any and all responses. See the difference here?
I'd call that blue!

All of them are blue, some are just darker than others. I have both Blue Copper and Black Copper Marans.

Awwwe!!!  I miss my little Buddy and his sounds.  I'm so glad it worked out so well.  It was great to finally meet beckyhsinglsc and her lovely family.  Thank you so much for transporting him.  Good luck with him and keep us updated on how he does.

I introduced the boys last night & all went well. They didn't pay to much attention to each other until Buddy decided to jump on Spots back...dems fighten words! They scuffled for maybe 30 seconds & now we're all getting along. They crow back & forth to each other....too funny, but neighbors probably don't agree. Lol

Here is my little Lemon again. Her behavior is perfectly normal. Although she has fewer head feathers than her sisters, I am still more concerned about the pinkish/red areas around her eyes and lower portion of beak. I don't think it is a development issue as maybe more a reaction to something. Her sisters of all the same age seem to have white skin where hers is red and seemingly scaly. I checked for mites and she is clean. Is it just that she hasn't feathered in so it seems more stark? I didn't notice this redness when my other girls were at this same point. Especially the swollen "gland" behind her ear. It doesn't appear raised in this pic but it is a significant bump.
I had a welsummer with a similar issue. It ended up being a roo!

Well, hum de dum, I eyeballed the color chart of BCM eggs and the photo of mine, and mine is only around around a 5 (out of 9). Still love it, still gorgeous and dark, and hey, an egg!

Hi Gallo and Pastry.. The boys are doing well. Wish they would spend more time here but since we don't have high speed internet or all heir friends in close proximity they prefer their mom's house.
Gallo, as LKD said, no, I didn't know her, I was just looking at turkeys in the freezer and she said she wanted to get a heritage turkey instead of a store bought. That prompted me to tell her that I had about 11 at home, along with chickens, geese guineas etc.

re: old computers and such. I had a TI994/A that I used to play with and write code for. And, as much as I hate to say it I still have floppy disks, both 5 1/4 and 3 1/2. Figure there must be a museum somewhere that could use 'em.

My older brother was the Commodore 64 and 128 geek.

Angelray, I have carried roosters upside down by their feet when rounding them up to put them in their own coop, but not for very long, but just so I could carry more at a time. We had a Polish that would attack the boys and I. After showing him he was not the boss, we would carry him around on his back like you would a baby, preventing him from moving. He settled down after that

City Farm, my daughter and my husband live down that way. They are just south of the 202 and Country Club. It's an all day event for us to go see them or vice versa. I just took pictures this a.m. to post after I get caught up here in a little bit. Oh, just to nit pic, "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil"

Kev, you appear the expert on solar water heaters, what brand of passive set up do you have? Is Solahart still in business? I haven't seen them in ages.

Bobby Basham, any relation to or know of a Tom Basham that lived in Phx?

LKD, cute pics, captions.

We have a little hauling trailer we want to sell. It is a mostly gutted out pop up trailer. 8 1/2' X 6' Back lights work and the tires are good. Have a spare tire also. THis is a pop-up that we bought to camp in and then found out it was so rotten in the wood that holds up the top that it would be to dangerous to use. We were going to use it to move in but then we got the motor home.
