Arizona Chickens

I know there are several breeders here in Tucson that sell all breeds. check on craigslist too. If you have nopt found one by the time we come in June I can try and get one to bring you. I am loving my ducks.
Wonderful photos!! Thank you.. We never thought we would enjoy or bond with ducks.. But now we really do love them.. We would only like one more.. & yes if we do not find one before June 1st, yes... Yes.. Your are so awesome.. I have a few people helping us look.. I am just now starting to look at different breeds.. Of course we want a nice breed..

Bon Voyage BYC AZ Seed Box! I just met a little chiken and her husband and had a lovely chat. They're taking the seed box to Phoenix tomorrow. I pulled together a big pile from stuff I grew (and some I bought) and the box is almost full! Start gathering your seeds.
YAY! Whoever gets it or passes it along, please keep us posted on its location. I get down to the Valley rarely and would like to have the opportunity to get it on one of my trips down there. Most likely September as we are expecting our first grandchild in Chandler around the 9th!!
Can't wait to have a seed exchange gathering. Even if it is in the fall... No hurries.. . Lady Doria donated a nice sixe box full of seeds.. Thank you girl.. And thank you for the wonderful pots, wood & chicken coop.. D.H. Loves it! :thumbsup Hope to see ya all here for the seed exchange.. :weee

So darn cute DH is hooked. Now on the hunt for another on so he/she has a mate.. She is a Ancona..

Ha. I'm gonna follow your ducks progress so I can see if we want a couple. I've never eaten a duck egg.

Duck eggs are richer & better for baking.. I have heard they are more nutritious ? Have not done the research.. Ultimately we want 1 of each..

Thank You City Farm. This has been a trying year for all of us and although I do believe God has a time and a reason for all he does and all he gives us I sometimes find myself wondering why. I know its not my job to ask why but I admit I do it. It has been so difficult since my grand mom died in January. We are all still trying to figure out how to continue on without her. There was not a holiday that was spent without her and she was the matriarch of our family. So my sister having to go through this as well as her fathers father is in hospice and her father in law is not expected to leave the hospital is so overwhelming. I cannot take her pain but I can be there for her.
I have decided to make a tribute garden for my grand mom. She loves hummingbirds and butterflies so I am looking for ideas of plants I can plant in Tucson to attract them so I can make her a garden. I figure it will help me feel close to her and I can have my sister and cousin come out and help me plant so stuff for her. Might help is all. Again thank you all for being so caring and loving. I feel like you are all my extended family!!

Love your idea of adding to your garden in memory of your amazing grandma.. I too so loved my grandma!! :highfive:
Totally blessing from above. :woot

When I was diagnosed with cancer they feared it had already spread to my lungs and an x-ray showed I had a large suspicious lesion/nodule. They biopsied it by having me take a deep breath and sticking this big probe device in between the ribs and into the lung. The sound of it puncturing is unforgettable. Anyway, they had a team ready to analyze the sample and before I got off the table my surgeon stood over me and said, "I never thought I'd say this, but congratulations, you have valley fever!" We were so relieved, given the alternative. I never knew I had it, but in retrospect it made sense given how tired I was all the time. I just attributed to the long hours I was working. I hope your body can rise up and squash it quickly.

A little chicken - sending you and your family

and prayers. My mother in law went through a combative/foul mouthed stage while she was in the hospital, just prior to her passing. The staff thought she was just a cranky old lady. When I told them that I had known her for over 30 years and she never behaved this way, they looked deeper and found out that it was medication related. Our family is like yours when it comes to the in laws. Wishing you and yours peace through this challenging time.

Not only medicine imbalance, but also urinary tract infections can cause confusions and personality changes.

Please help!!! I have too many chickens - especially roosters! I have a polish frizzle (pictured) that I'm pretty sure is a rooster. I'm going to sell him as it doesn't seem anybody in AZ has polish frizzles, and they're the cutest chicken on the planet!!! People sell polish frizzles for $100. I'd like to get about $30 for this little specimen. As I'm sure everybody on this website knows, he can only be bred with smooth feathered girls. I also have two smooth feathered polish that I won't charge anyone for if they can provide a good home. I think one is a boy and one is a girl. They're darling, and may carry the frizzle gene. Finally, I have two male cream legbars that I need to find homes for. All were hatched around Easter so nobody's crowing yet. If you can help, please let me know! Thanks, Deanna
