Arizona Chickens

We got the dust, and about a 200 drop rain spit - not quite enough to wet the ground totally BUT after 4 months we'll take all we can get! Supposedly we will get thunderstorms all night! Morning will tell. The girls were happy with the cooler temps too!

We got more rain overnight - enough to wet down the ground but not enough to get under the trees. The girls are crazy happy this AM! Its kinda cool, the ground has a whole new interest for scratching and its partly cloudy so they can get all over in the chicken pasture!! WhooHoooooo - hope we get a bit more like that!

Those little stinkers are adorable..

Look what came out for us.

It jumped my in-laws, neighbors fence to get to the pool for a cool drink and I caught a couple pics. I love wildlife.

Agh, how wonderful.. Whenever some ask " where do you go for vacation" I always answer
Any where we can see wild life.. Our first camping trip is going to Tucson..

We got about an inch of rain last night!

Unfortunately our chickens can't go out and enjoy the fun of free-ranging on a cloudy cool day because a mountain lion tried to get in their run this morning and I'm afraid he's still around somewhere.

We always get to enjoy living here we do, but it's kind of a bummer when the trade-off is that it's also full of animals that love to eat chicken.

Yes, the coop and run are very secure. He (or she) couldn't get in. If it were completely up to me, we would catch/release, but we have neighboring ranches that make it their mission to kill these guys if they come into the area. Hopefully we will be the ones to catch it.

Im in Tucson area. Have 23 chicks. Hoping for a couple roos. I cant wait to hatch a few baby chicks, but we are months away from that .

Even if you do not have seeds you are welcome to come & talk CHICKEN..
@Sill gave us some Quail eggs, we made deviled eggs with them.. I will take a photo to post them..

We hear guinea are great at protecting.. Hope you can catch & release before they get a hold of it..
